Cook finds Australia


On this day in history lieutenant James Cook, captain of HMB Endeavour, claimed the eastern portion of the Australian continent for the British Crown in 1770, naming it New South Wales.

Huge snowstorm hits nz


I remember this snowstorm hitting our school and I was only six or seven. we got to go home early because otherwise the buses couldn't make it on the road. it hit our school on a Wednesday and I was on our little monorail when it hit. I am very surprised I can remember all this.

Sudden thunderstorm causes a plane crash.

On this day in history in 1985 a thunderstorm causes a plane to crash at the Dallas/Fort worth airport in Texas. it kills 135 people. in the video the person with the lighting bolt is the thunderstorm. this was done in 20 minutes.

Hurricane sinks Spanish treasurer ships.

On this day in history 1715 a hurricane strikes the east coast of Florida. it sinks 10 Spanish treasurer ships and kills about 1000 people. all the gold and silver fell overboard. some coins still wash up on the beaches of Florida today. the ships had just left Cuba and where on there way to Spain.
