On Saturday I went to the Christmas parade in Greymouth. I went with the rest of the Lake Brunner sea scouts on our cutter that we decorated. The theme of the parade was meant to be Disney themed so the adults chose Moana the movie to be our theme. We where given water guns to shoot people with and lollies to give them. Majority of the crowd got wet. The parade went of for about half an hour. After the parade me and my family went ice skating, it was my first time.

Weekend journal

On the weekend on Saturday lake Brunner sea scouts went to Lyttleton to sail a ketch. a ketch is a sailing boat with two masts two jib sails one main sail and one mizzen sail. the hull is about the same size as a sloop.

We split into groups then we rotated around jobs on the boat my group started of at the group steering at the back of the boat and I learnt the the handle things on the steering wheel are for measuring the distance you turn after that our group rotated to the mainsail then the jib sail.
